Choosing Camping Tents can be made easy.

Camping Tents

When people go shopping for camping tents, they sometimes wait until the last minute, which leaves them no time to research or read reviews about the tent they are about to purchase. So they walk into their local Wal-Mart or Target, and buy the first Coleman tent that’s on sale. This is all well and good, until a thunderstorm hits their campsite and hail starts to fall. The truth is, you should spend a good couple of hours doing some light research about all of the available tents for camping before you head to the store. To save you a little time from your research, here are a few things you should know:

Keep weather conditions in mind when buying a tent for camping:

Buying a tent depends heavily on the time of year that you will be camping. There are typically 3 types of tents to choose from:

1. All season
2. 3-Season
3. 4-Season

An all season tent is usually the cheapest kind of camping tent. They are for the casual campers who plan on camping only during the spring and summer. They are not meant for any types of harsh weather, so be sure to check the 10-day weather forecast before you head out to camp with this one.
A 3-season tent is meant for just that, three seasons. This tent is a little more durable than the all season tents, and can be used in most weather conditions except for cold winters.
And finally the 4-season tent is built with extreme versatility. These kinds of tents are the most expensive, but they will keep you insulated and safe in all weather conditions.

Water resistant tents:

Most tents nowadays are made to be water resistant, so you shouldn’t have to worry too much about staying dry. You want to make sure though, that when you’re at the store, you take a look at the camping tents packaging and make sure that it says that it is water resistant. Also make sure that it has a decent ventilation system. It used to be that you had to drape some raincoats over the tent to stay dry, this would keep you dry, but it would also block ventilation, which would make the inside of the tent all hot and muggy. But thanks to newer tent technology, tents are now made with material that can be both water-resistant and breathable.

Tent Design:

Nobody wants to get to the campground and spend an hour setting up their tents. If it says something like “Easy setup”, or, “Quick Pitch” on the packaging, then you’re good to go. The same thing goes for packing up your tent at the end of your trip, you’ve had a good time at the campground, but it’s time to go home and the last thing you want to do is spend an hour striking the tent and folding it all up.

Well I hope these few pieces of advice will help you choose the best camping tent for your families needs. If you follow these directions and maybe read some reviews, you should be good to go on your next camping trip. Have Fun!!!
